David was interviewed along with Vaughn Oliver(4ad) about band logos
in the Feb. 18th issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine. DCD took
home 9 awards in last nights Addy awards, including the Special Judges
Award for “Best Piece of Art Masquerading as a Piece of Communication”
as well as the ‘Best of Show” award -for his commercial for
Partnership for a Drug Free America, (pro bono),
and a Gold Addy for the commercial he directed for
Umqua bank (Portland)
david continues his work for the Gibbes Museum of Art in Chucktown,SC.
He speaks this Thursday evening at the Kansas City University, then the
following Thursday in Dallas for the DSVC National Student show +
Conference, then onto Beantown to judge the Boston Design Awards
(Bone show).
The following weekend finds david in NYC where he was asked by I.D.
magazine to judge the Clio awards show, and a few days later lectures
in the Big Apple as well. Gigs in Los Angeles , Madrid(Spanish Art
Directors Club), Jordan(University of Pedra) , Hannover (judging),
Barcelona, jarkato, indonesia, Zurich, India, Pakistan and Brasil
are also in the works
for this summer/fall. Up north david speaks to the FlashInTheCanFilm+
DesignFestival in Toronto April 10, and is also finishing up design on
10 paper bags
for MadamEdgar in Montreal. May 26th david lectures in St Louis.
David recently designed 4 (pro bono) posters for a sold out tsunami
relief benifit event at Bowans Island, south carolina.
